5 years ago today, I graduated from makeup school. For my final photoshoot, I wanted to create something soft, artistic, and a little unexpected. I handpicked flowers from my backyard, pressed them, and carefully placed each one to bring this delicate, fairy-inspired vision to life. Looking back, this moment reminds me that makeup is so much more than just application. From the initial concept and mood board, to refining the look as you study your model’s features and style, to ultimately bringing the vision to life through the final image. Every step is intentional. It’s storytelling, creativity, and expression. Sometimes, the most inspiring work comes from simply playing, experimenting, and trusting your ideas. I‘ve tried all the methods; from dish soap to bar soap to expensive brush cleaners… I always come back to good old Laundry (bar) Soap! 🧼🫧 No other product will get your brushes squeaky clean in seconds, without excessive scrubbing or having to wash your brushes multiple times. It’s designed to eliminate tough stains on your clothes & it works just as well to get out greasy or even waterproof makeup residue on your makeup brushes. 🫧 Bonus: it’s affordable! Make sure you use lukewarm water when cleaning your brushes. Cold water won’t be as effective in dissolving tough dirt and hot water will loosen the glue that holds the bristles in place.
